Studying at the Institute of Aerospace Engineering

The priority of the Institute of Aerospace Engineering is education, which is offered at several levels. The basic educational part consists of a follow-up Master’s programme Aerospace Technology with two specializations: Aircraft design and Airtransport and Aeroport Technology. Those interested in studying in English are offered a two-year master’s degree programme Aerospace Technology, the content of which corresponds to the specialization of Aircraft Design. The institute also offers a three-year Bachelor’s programme for professional pilots, where students obtain an ATPL(A) licence. We also offer several specialized courses for post graduate students and a doctoral programme in the field of Design and Process Engineering (Aircraft Design and Air Transport) as part of the Machines and equipment programme.

Students at the Institute of Aerospace Engineering may complete the study with the following options:

  • A three-year Engineering Bachelor’s programme, branch of study “Professional pilot”, students have to present and defend a Bachelor’s thesis to obtain the Bachelor’s degree
  • A three-year Engineering Bachelor’s programme, branch of study “Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering”, students have to present and defend a Bachelor’s thesis to obtain the Bachelor’s degree and they can continue with a two-year follow-up Mechanical Engineering Master’s programme Aerospace Technology in selected specialization (completed by the state exam and diploma thesis). The graduate obtains the “Ing.” degree
  • A three-year Engineering Bachelor’s programme, branch of study “Professional pilot”, students have to present and defend a Bachelor’s thesis to obtain a Bachelor’s degree and they can continue with a two-year follow-up Mechanical Engineering Master’s programme Aerospace Technology specialization Airtransport and Aeroport Technology (completed by the state exam and diploma thesis). The graduate obtains the “Ing.” degree
  • Doctoral programme, which allows students to participate in research and science activities. To complete the Doctoral programme students have to pass the state exam and present and defend a doctoral thesis on a chosen topic. The graduate obtains the Ph.D. degree.

Important! A graduate in the Professional pilot branch cannot continue with the Aircraft Design specialization!

We also offer international study programmes within the Erasmus programme at universities in Barcelona, Braunschweig, Oostende, Tartu, Linköping, Istambul or Ankara.
